1986 WILLIAM STOESSER SR.
Founder of Stoesser Industries. Active in SPE for over
35 years. Close to 20 former employees of Stoesser Industries have been
Board members of the SPE GGS and have followed William's lead in promoting
SPE.
1987 KENNETH BENNER
Past President of SPE-GGS, and leader in SPE National
Committee's. Ken was General Operation Chairman for ANTEC 1979 and has
been active in SPE for over 20 years.
1988 RUSSELL GREEN
Former Monsanto sales manager and well know material
supplier. Russ has been active in SPE for over 20 years and is consider
a top consultant in the plastics industry.
1989 LOUIS TEMESVARY
Former SPE GGS President, Board Member, and Industry
leader with expertise in Mold and Product Design. The SPE GGS has founded
the Lou Temesvary Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor this captain of industry.
1990 PETER HUGHES
Former SPE GGS counselor, speaker, and Industry leader
in field of Thermoforming. Pete owned Hughes Plastics and was active in
SPE National.
1991 JAMES STUBSTAD
Former plastics expertise at Cutter Labs and currently
renown speaker in field of plastics part failure analysis. Jim has tirelessly
served both SPE GGS and National.
1992 BRANT NEWSOM
Former SPE GGS President, Board Member, and Industry
leader for Eastman / Wilson George Meyer. Brant is one of the Bay Area's
leading materials expert on polyolefins.
1993 GARY DAVIS
Manager of General Polymers, and active as a Bay Area
material supplier for over 20 years. Past Board Member and supporter of
all SPE GGS programs.
1994 PAUL APPELBLOM
Active Board Member of SPE GGS for 10 years. VP of Jatco
Inc. and former SPE GGS Counselor. Paul has worked tirelessly on many SPE
functions and actively supports SPE Education programs.
1995 MICHAEL LODICO
Former SPE GGS President and active Board Member for
20 years. Founded SPE GGS Hall of Fame and Tech Fair. Michael was ANTEC
1994 General Operation Chairman. Founder of Plasco Inc., a leading Bay
Area plastic distributor.
1996 JOHN LaFOUNTAIN
Former SPE GGS President, Treasurer and active Board
Member for 20 years, Owner of Bay Polymer Corp., a reprocessor of plastics,
John has worked tirelessly to promote all SPE functions.
1997 RUTH BIRMAN
Former Secretary of SPE GGS and active Board member for
over 12 years. Ruth has served on many program committees including ANTEC
1994. Ruth is currently Manager of Quality for Portola Packaging.
1998 TERRY QUASHNICK
Terry
founded Quashnick Tool Corp. in 1973. Terry has been a leader in Plastic
injection mold making and molding for 31 years, and a member of SPE for
21 years. As a custom molder he has specialized in the construction of
complex injection molds. Terry works closely with his customers to problem
solve and construct molds to produce plastic parts initially believed impossible.
Education and training in the plastics field are extremely important to
Terry, having trained 16 apprentices in 25 years in a state certified Tool/Mold
Maker program.
1999 MARK MAHONEY
Mark
earned his bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts, Plastics and Materials
Technology at San Francisco State University while working in part as a
fiberglass laminator. Upon graduation, Mark was a Sales Engineer for a
custom molder and mold maker, Stoesser Industries. Mark went on to get
his Master degree and taught Plastic technology at Delaware Technical College,
then at San Francisco State University. Mark went on to fulfill a further
ambition to study law.
2000 BRIAN SCAPPATICCI
Former President of the SPE GGS and councilor, serving
over 7 years in that capacity. Brian has been involved with SPE for more
than 25 years and has been an active GGS board member for more than 10
years. Brian has been active in both the Education Night and our annual
Tech Fair since 1991. Brian is a manufacturer's representative for Die-Mold
Machinery.
2001 RICHARD CHUNG
W. Richard Chung, Ph.D., Professor of the Dept. of Chemical
and Materials Engineering at San Jose State University has been involved
with the SPE for over 25 years. Richard has served on many GGS boards and
sub-committees, including ANTEC, Tech Fair, and Education. Professor Chung's
efforts to expand the education and knowledge of plastics to the Bay Area
plastics industy is well documented in his work with the SPE GGS. He also
has been very successful in graduating plastics engineers to serve locally
in the industry.
