Piatti’s was considered to expensive and the location not
appropriate given the $60+ menu cost per person being quoted. Another location will be chosen. Eric A. will ask about availability at
Bella Mia in
A third speaker for the Tech Fair needs to be confirmed by 7/25/08. Mikki and Eric are checking a few sources, IDEO and Exponent. Richard Chung also suggested Dr. Robert Wilson with SRI as an excellent speaker. Eric A. will follow up to check Dr. Wilson’s availability
Mike LoDico will take care of the Tech Fair invitation format. A document with SPE GGS letterhead and SPE GGS logo graphics should be used. Once the third speaker is identified for the Tech Fair. Alfonso Lopez will forward information to Mike for publication and dissemination to all our members and persons on email lists.
Board members present for the meeting tour the Audio Video room at Flextronics building #6. The room is more than adequate and has a cafeteria very close by, which can be used for lunch or snacks. There is ample parking.
A person will be required to attend the door and let Tech
Fair Attendees in as Flextronics is a secure facility. For this task, it was agreed that a couple of
students from SJSU would be good to do the job. In exchange they may attend the
tech fair free of charge. Dr. Richard Chung volunteered to find
two responsible students that would like to volunteer for the job
Scholarship
Not any applications have been received for the Lou Temesvary education scholarship. The official Deadline is April. Since the Tech Fair is not being held until September 26, the deadline will be extended to September 18
Officer elections
Alfonso Lopez to send out email to all SPE GGS members stating current officer nominations and requesting new nominations.
The position of Counselor must be voted on by all members. Brian S. is the current Counselor. Brian will be nominated for another term as he is feeling healthy for the time being. However, new nominees must be requested and all members should have a way to vote for the Counselor. Mike LoDico volunteered to get a “voting” site on the SPE GGS website for members to access and cast their votes.
